A fishing mecca And while the natural beauty of this region is a feast for the senses, Bemm River is best known as a mecca for fishing. It is one of Victoria’s prime locations for bream, and has a reputation as a top area for flathead too. Best fishing results are generally achieved from a boat in the inlet, although there are also plenty of options for river, surf and rock fishing to the southwest of town. Popular fishing spots include the inlet jetty and platforms along the river, while those looking to go canoeing and kayaking will find a launching place at Luderick Point Memorial Park.
