MV LADY JODIE Originally named Jody , MV Lady Jodie was built in 1976 as a Sharpie Prawn Trawler to operate out of Bundaberg, Queensland, but now spends her days in holiday mode on the beautiful Gippsland Lakes. Suitable for up to 35 passengers, Lady Jodie is available for all types of charters including school and church camps on Banksia Peninsula, weddings, birthdays, Christmas parties and special events including being a part of the annual Paynesville Music Festival with a three-piece band on board. Head out on the MV Lady Jodie for a three-hour 90 Mile Beach or a one-hour Paynesville local tour. Custom charters, general water taxi and cargo carriage are also available. PEELS CRUISES Operating for just short of a century, Peels Cruises is the longest serving locally owned cruise company on the Gippsland Lakes providing the finest way to discover the beauty of the waterways. It all began when Harold Peel started hiring out skiffs and providing bait to local fishermen, excursion operations beginning in 1920 with the local 24-foot boat, Devon . Harold’s grandson, Barrie, now operates the business with his wife, Cheryl, and their son, James, who is the fourth generation of Peels to operate cruises on the Gippsland Lakes. A four-hour cruise aboard the fully enclosed Stormbird includes a stopover in Metung for a pub meal while the longest cruise available on the Lakes, aboard Thunderbird , is a 70-kilometre journey that covers Lake King and Lake Victoria.
